Mode of Operation

During operation, the ST-H sensor emits a narrow ultrasonic pulse beam perpendicular to the sensor face. The device measures the transit time of the pulse—from emission to the reception of the echo reflected from the liquid surface—to calculate the distance.

Temperature-induced variations in the speed of sound are automatically compensated by the integrated temperature sensor, ensuring high accuracy over a wide range of conditions.
